Technology and Co-operation

Sophisticated technical systems enable the operators to monitor traffic in general and keep a close watch over traffic in the city and on main access roads.

Cameras, sensors and information systems that can be used to manage traffic have been set up along the major highways and in tunnels.

Trafik Stockholm monitors traffic in the Häggvik tunnel, Muskö tunnel and the tunnel system of Södra Länken.

Managing traffic involves much more than technology. The police, SOS Alarm, the rescue services, radio stations and even the general public are key sources of information so that Trafik Stockholm is able to provide up-to-date and relevant information.

The ability to cope under stress and manage many things simultaneously, in addition to being computer literate and service-minded, are all distinguishing traits of the operators at Trafik Stockholm.

Graphics We have almost 600 cameras along the roads. Being able to monitor so many at the same time demands highly sophisticated technology that can read the images and emit signals if anything disrupts the pattern.Graphics
